Creating supportive and inclusive environments is essential for individuals to reach their full potential. This involves recognizing a learner's unique strengths and designing supports that align with their individual needs and preferences, through meaningful collaboration between parents and providers.

I offer consulting services on a private-pay basis to families and Regional Center Self-Determination Program (SDP) participants, as well as Independent Educational Evaluations / Functional Behavior Assessments to help support students' educational needs.

Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) / Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA)

An Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) is an assessment conducted by a qualified professional who is not employed by the school district serving the student. IEEs evaluate various skill areas, including behavioral support, which are referred to as functional behavior assessments (FBAs). If a parent disagrees with an evaluation provided by the school district, they have the right to request an IEE at public expense.

As an approved contractor with Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), I am available to conduct IEE/FBAs at schools within the district for parents and caregivers seeking an independent evaluation. Additionally, I collaborate with families, schools, advocates, and special education attorneys to support learners in other school districts throughout the Los Angeles area.

Each IEE/FBA includes a comprehensive records review, indirect assessments with parents, caregivers, and school staff, direct observations, a written report, and IEP meeting attendance.
